Virtual Hosting Company takes great pleasure in announcing that IPv6 Connectivity is Coming Soon for our Alpha and Xray Servers.  This expansion will increase the available Virtual Hostnames and Interfaces we make available to our clientelle.  Additionally, this will expand the netwroking capabilities and infrastructure to increase overall options for our clients.  The best part of it all is that it's all happening in the background.  Our Clients will have to do nothing during the addition of IPv6 connectivity!  Here's a quick list of IPv6 capable services we'll be able to offer:

  • HTTP / HTTPS - Clients iwth websites hosted by Virtual Hosting Company will have the ability to enable IPv6 addressing on their sites!  This improves their reach to include visitors using IPv6 addressing.
  • IRC / Eggdrop (1.8.x) - Eggdrop has in their development channel the ability to use IPv6 natively (no additional patches required), increasing the network capabilities for our IRC Shell Solutions.
  • IRC / Bouncers - Up until now, we've had to specify if you want IPv6 or IPv4 connectivity.  By expanding our capabilities, Clients will no longer need to select one option or the other.  While our Lima server has IPv6 IRC connectivity only, these changes will bring IPv6 to Alpha, Xray, and Lima (already existing), and we're going to keep expanding from there!
  • Improved Security - Clients with native IPv6 Connectivity will be able to fully utilize the IPv6 infrastructure and better secure their connection.  Details forthcoming on more options that will be available to our IPv6 Clients.
  • IRCd / IRC Server Solutions - We've had a few clients mention that IPv6 Connectivity would benefit their IRC Server Solution.  With this expansion, we'll be able to give them exactly what they want!
We're extremely excited about the cmoing weeks as we fully complete the upgrade for our IPv6 Connectivity!  Once live, you'll see our IPv6 Addresses listed on the Vhost Listing page, and we'll post another announcement letting everyone know!

Thank you,

-Virtual Hosting Company
