Virtual Hosting Company was saddened by the news late January that the Foxtrot server would be leaving the Data Center it was homed in from December 2012.  Unfortunately, due to a sustained Distributed Denial of Service attack, which was effecting Enterprise users at the Data Center as well, we were contacted regarding relocating / decommissioning the Foxtrot Server, as the Data Center could no longer handle the DDOS.  It was both frustrating for our clients and frustrating for us to realize that so much work was going away.

With that in mind, we started seeking a replacement server that would be better equipped to handle the potential attacks that recently targeted the Foxtrot server.  Researching numerous Data Centers throughout the country, we were able to locate a Data Center in New York that would be equipped to handle our business.

We provisioned Alpha, a new server to handle our BNC, IRC, and IRCd Solutions, as well as some of our Reseller Solutions.  Alpha operates off CentOS 6 and has packages installed for the easy compilation of various software packages, including eggdrops and IRCds.

Additionally, we Commissioned the Oscar server to handle some of our Web clients.  This server, running CentOS 6 and Plesk 11.5, was set up and configured while the transition from Foxtrot to Alpha was underway.  We were able to relocate all Active clients from Foxtrot to Alpha with only minor issues.

Thank you,
