Decommissioning Square
Virtual Hosting Company is scheduling the the decommissioning of our Square Server. Square has been operating for just over a year and a half, providing backup and restoration services, secondary nameserver services, and remote monitoring services for clients throughout the world. Recently, we've migrated these services from our Square Server to our Core Server, eliminating all loads from the Square Server for retirement. Square operated on CentOS 5.9 (final) 64-bit. The replacement, Core, operates CentOS 6.4 64-bit.
It is with great sadness that the decision to decommission the Square Server was made; however, in an ever-changing, volatile world such as this, the ability to quickly and easily perform major software updates is a must. Core was brought online specifically as a replacement for Square, and has been relieving the load from Square for the past two months to slowly migrate clients. As that transition is now complete, the scheduled decommission is now set.
