Virtual Hosting Company is pleased to announce multiple changes on our website.  We’ve improved various portions of our site to allow for easy navigation, breadcrumb linking, reduced loads, and more.  Additionally, we’ve updated our Billing Back-End, Whmcs, to the latest released version 5.2.3.  We’ve also updated some of our site content to make things a little less confusing, a little more user-friendly, and a lot easier to understand.  out the list below to get a better understanding of what all we’ve done!

  1. Backend Changes   We’ve re-written a few large sections of code to improve it’s parsing on the server, and how it handles things.  This has reduced latency considerably.
  2. Menu Changes   We’ve converted our previous Drop Down Menu (which used javascript and auto-hid when you moved off of it) to utilize the Bootstrap system developed by Twitter.  This system allows us to create user-friendly drop-down menus, and so much more, within the site, to improve your overall interactions with us.
    1. Along with changing to the new Menu System, we’ve integrated more directly with our Billing Account.  This means that, when you’re logged in, you can access everything as you would from the Billing System from our home page.  This can make it easier for you to access your Invoices, Domains, and Support Tickets quick and easy.
  3. Breadcrumbs   We’ve introduced True Breadcrumbs on the site.  In the past, we’ve used a title bar on the top of our pages to indicate the location you’ve reached and it’s relation to the site as a whole.  This change brings full-fledged Breadcrumb support, meaning you’ll be able to link back through each branch of our tree from the page you’re on to the home page.  We hope you like this improvement.
  4. Billing System Updates   We’ve recently been updating our Billing System, WHMCS, for security reasons.  Last month, we updated from 5.1.3 to 5.1.4.  Shortly after, 5.2.2 was released with some major improvements.  Not long after that, 5.2.3 was released as a minor bugfix for some issues reported.  We’re now on track with WHMCS and their Release Schedule (every 6 weeks).
  5. 2CheckOut Service   We’ve been informed by 2CheckOut, a third-party billing provider, that they will no longer be able to provide services to us.  While we were very displeased in the way 2CheckOut notified us (or, rather, didn’t), we have no control over their policies and practices.  At this time, we’ve removed all links to 2CheckOut and disabled it as a payment gateway in our system.  We apologize for our 2CheckOut clients.
  6. Billing System Template   We’ve updated our Billing System Template/Design to match that of our core site.  Clients logged in will be able to navigate between the main site and the billing system with no transition.  Non-logged clients and/or visitors will be able to do the same.
