What is a IRC Bouncer?

An IRC Bouncer is a client on a remote server that keeps your nickname connected to the IRC Network while your device is offline. It allows you to see chat history (up to a specific number of lines) from messages sent while you were offline. Additionally, it provides you a Vhost (Virtual Hostname) that differs from your real hostname, thereby adding a layer of protection against potential DDoS.
