IRC Provisioning System 5.0 – Upcoming Release
Virtual Hosting Company's Software Development Team has been working hard to complete the updates for the IRC Provisioning System, version 5.0. We're pleased to announce the upcoming release of 5.0 on January 1st, 2026. With this release comes a plethora of changes, improving overall security and functionality of the system. Here's a quick list of some of these changes:
Security
- Transitioned away from a SQL based connection for managing command and control, thereby eliminating a security concern with remote systems having access to your SQL Database.
- Updated the new API to utilize encoded strings to better secure communication between the Client and the Module. This has impact if you are utilizing non-SSL based communications.
Functionality
- AddOn Feature for Login Notifications - This allows the Administrator as well as the Client to receive optional e-mail notifications upon login to their account on the Shell.
- Reporting - Updates to the reporting functions to better handle the direct reporting functionality.
- Debugging - Added optional debugging methods for troubleshooting when encountering challenges.
- AutoConf Generation - A new feature to generate the configuration.php file - More information will be posted soon!
- Update Check - Updated the methodology that the system uses to confirm Versioning information.
Fixes
- Fixes as listed in the Module Change Log, Addon Change Log, and Client Change Log.
